Hazardous Materials Refresher - Hands On
This program meets the requirements of OSHA 1910.120 Hazard WOPER Rule and NJ PEOSH and NJ Dept. of Health requirements. Prerequisite of Hazmat Awareness.
Infectious Control/Blood Borne Pathogen Training - Refresher
The program will address the OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Standard and review of three most common bloodborne pathogens placing law enforcement at risk: Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C and HIV. Understanding the mode of transmission helps reinforce the utilization of Universal Precautions, vaccination recommendations and prompt reporting of any occupational exposures. The program will address what constitutes an exposure and available treatments in the event of exposure with special attention to issues specific to law enforcement, such as crime scene safety.
FF1 will conduct a lecture and powerpoint on the current Hazcom Standard. The New standard will cover OSHA Hazcom as well as the new Global Harmonized System (GHS). GHS was incorporated into the Hazcom Standard in 2012. ( Hazcom 2012 is Final Rule). This course will review the Right-to-Know/Hazard Communication and SARA Regulations as well as safety and health measures, Material Safety Data Sheets and Hazardous Substance Fact Sheets. This course meets the NJDOHSS and OSHA Regulations.
