Thirty-five pounds is the capacity most single-house departments settle on. Seven pieces per load means a full set of gear plus a spare, or two sets if you are washing shells and liners separately - which for a post-fire decon you should be.

Soft mount construction means no bolting to a pad. The suspension absorbs the spin load, so the machine can go on a standard floor rather than requiring a concrete base poured for the purpose. That alone often decides where a wash room can go.

Dedicated cycles cover outer shell and wildland gear, inner liner, moisture barrier and thermal batting, bloodborne and biological contamination, extra spin, and general wash.
